I needed to build up foam platforms for the eyes to sit on. Foam chunks were first glued on, then shaped (I find carving foam pretty difficult), then coated with marine epoxy for a hard skin. You can see the holes in the neck for the eye control wires to go through.

I'm starting to like him already.
