I was trying for a rough and ugly look for this guy so I didn't smooth the surface at all. The neck pivot is just a sawed-off bolt.

The body is made of wood and paper, though there's hardly any body at all. The eye mechanism is worked by thin nylon line. I don't have any photos of the mechanism but it's two flat disks that pivot.
